I have been thinking about this for a while. I think it would be really useful if we could post information about our favorite comfort items like heat packs/ ice packs, braces, canes, shower chairs, safety rails, etc.
Everyone can post their items, photos, how they use them, where to get them, and how much they cost. I guess we need to keep all reviews positive, so no bad reviews? Just list the items you like and why.
I am really interested in knowing what other adaptive devices folks use and it would be a great way to share ideas.
I’m looking up my stuff right now and will post the info soon. Please join me!
HI..well i got a light weight Scooter Store Scooter....luckily haven't had to use it for a while. And i got a cane, walker, used those in the past with knee replacements..I still never got wax refill chunks for paraffin box.....
I like these pillows, that fell out of voque....the ones with like teeny styro ball fillings inside...always got one behind my back if laying on the couch...or to rest hand while sleeping ( side sleeper)
wrist braces with thumb attachement...but frankly right now, i am loving ACE bandages, every width....got one on the knee at night, and one on the ankle...and they can be used in a pinch for a wrist brace
It's a wide nylon belt you can wrap around your back and hips with three pockets for cold gel packs you keep in the freezer. I use it at home and at work:
I really like the new Bengay Zero Degrees. It goes on like deodorant and doesn't smell like the old stuff did. Seems to help somewhat, too. It sits on my nightstand. :)
I really like a leg wedge pillow. I use it while watching TV or sleeping when my feet and/or back hurt. Keeping my feet raised helps reduce the swelling and pain in both feet and back. Here's a picture of one - not promoting this one in particular: http://www.contourliving.com/p-185-orthopedic-leg-wedges.aspx
