PsA Toenails

I’m usually on here whining, lol, but this time I’m actually offering a product endorsement!
Like many of us, I had sporadic “strange” complaints for many years before I was diagnosed. One such was continuing problems with my toenails. I lost the left big toenail several times, and covered the ugly rest of them with nail polish. After a particularly brutal and slow-healing infection, I, reluctantly realized that I needed to forgo nail salons, and seek the help of a Nurse-Specialist. It took almost a full year - and no more pretty polish - but I have healthy nails. One of her first suggestions was to start using nailcare products from a German company called “Gehwol”, especially their Fluid. Initially I rubbed a drop into each nail twice a day, now down to only once. Both my tendency to ingrown nails as well as the pseudo fungus infections are gone. Of course, much of the credit goes to the nurse, but I am convinced the Gehwol products have helped immensely. They are not always easily available in Canada, but they are well worth tracking down!

Oh! This is exciting to know, I have psoriasis in all my finger and toe nails, and one of my finger nails has mostly detached from the nail bed, I keep them permanently covered with nail polish because they’re so ugly (I have photos on my Pinterest board: https://pin.it/ehc6kfiixqofaf) I’ll look to see if I can get this in the UK

The pictures on Pinterest look exactly like my nails did. Not all at once and until the PsA diagnosis, not related to anything, in my mind. My GP prescribed various anti-fungal treatments, all ineffective. My big toenail fell off three times (first detaching from the nail bed).

I bet you can get it in the UK, cuz it’s a German company.

Good luck!

Susan

They have loads of different products available on UK Amazon
