Hi friends, sorry for the poor quality photo. I have not had many skin symptoms but I have had a couple of these little crusty patches crop up and I wanted to know if this looks like psoriasis to you? This one is on my hip and is about 2cm.
It is possibly psoriasis but it really takes a dermatologist to diagnosis it. Mine looks like burns but it is non plaque forming psoriasis. Psoriasis can take so many forms. Welcome back Mim. I am glad to see you.
Hi Michael ! Yes, I have seen a lot of photos and there certainly seems to be a variety of appearances. I have not had good luck with my last two dermatologists. Time to find a new one, I guess.
Could be. The spots i get on my abdomen look similar to that, but i have several different varieties.
Hi Grumpy ! You just taught me something. I didn't know a person could have multiple varieties of skin psoriasis.
I have about three of these spots, one on my back, this one and one on the back of my calf. I did have a small patch near my ear but it has cleared up and a dermatologist would not commit to calling it psoriasis when I had it looked at about a year ago. I saw another dermatologist about my nails and she said it didn't look like psoriasis because I didn't have any "oil spots", only white flakiness. I need to see a good derm doc sometime because I am also a skin cancer survivor. I was just hoping that some of you might say this was a familiar looking lesion.
You should check with a dermatologist, but this looks like some of the smaller spots I’ve had in the past (guttate psoriasis). And yes, you can have more than one kind and not always at the same or different times. I’ve had guttate (aka “raindrop”) almost everywhere on my body and plaque on my elbows, knees, and one of my hands. The nice thing is the PsA treatments address the P as well. I’ve only had a couple small spots that went away fairly quickly since I started PsA meds 2+ years ago. Good luck!
