I had a discectomy and decompression (Lumbar) last year and during the surgery...the doctor tore my dural. Started leaking spinal fluid and had a second surgery to repair 2 days later where another doctor sliced my muscle and overlapped the tear. I have had more problems after my back surgery than I had before the back surgery. Has anyone else experienced this?
Oh wow! I had a spinal fluid leak, but it was there before surgery too, and they simply failed to repair it. The leak was from a CT/myelogram that I had 4 or 5 days prior.
I had to return to the hospital, and get closed up tighter, and on total bed rest for 24 plus hours.
But I was in worse shape after surgery than before in many ways. The reason was that I wasn't permitted to start physical therapy right away, and the scar tissue was able to get a really bad hold on the surgical area. I had a lot of pain post surgery. I wound up having surgery there again, as the same disc herniated again, and everything got cleaned up, and I started PT right away. This isn't a great solution, but it really changed my life around for the better.
How long are you post surgery? Have you been doing PT?

My surgery was April, 2012. I had P.T. before but, not after.
You may want to get evaluated for PT if you are still having trouble. At this point, my expectation would be that your spine is stable.
