I have been having pain that started around mid right side of my back but sometimes feels like rib pain. Can I have rib pain from the psoriatic arthritis My stomach is a mess though. My primary care physician had me start Metamucil just to keep things moving a bit more regularly. However mypain still persists. Wondering if my nsaids have caused an ulcer? Or am I still having adjustment problems from the newly prescribed Otezla?
You can have rib pain from PsA. You can have stomach troubles as well. If you are on NSAIDs long term you should be taking Prilosec or a similar med to protect your stomach.
It sounds like you should put a call into your doctor to discuss these concerns. At the very least you need to protect your stomach when on NSAIDs.
I’ve been on and off nsaids but on more than off with zero pilosec and no one has suggested it to me.
I’m surprised. My doctor has a firm rule that if I’m on an NSAID that I have to be on Prilosec.
This wouldn’t cause constipation obviously, but I would bring it up with your rheumy as well.
Well, my doctors have never recommended prilosac either but I have not complained or had any stomach issues except when taking MTX. The rib part is very familiar though. That is actually where my PSA started and after xray after xray, and MRIs, and then development of sausage toes voila here I am. It even on humira it comes and goes to no end buy finally I can wash my hair and my flexibility is tons better now. It can be very uncomfortable and like I mentioned reoccurring so be sure to discuss it with your rheumy. I would also mention stomach pain as well if you have some now you will want the protection long term.
