Just wondering if anyone knows how long you have to be off remicade before having surgery and if I will also have to go off the methotrexate and plaquanil? not sure the benefits of the surgery will be worth going off all my meds. any information you could give me will be greatly appreciated.
The remicade you will need to talk to your doctor about timing, as you may need to take a break to minimize risk of infection. Plaquenil you will likely be able to stay on, but MTX you will need to come off of. It will be a week to three before surgery, and another week or two after. Your doctor will give you guidelines. No NSAIDs the week before either.
