Obamacare and Physicians

I fear a great many of Psoriatic Arthritis patients are going to loose their favorite Doctors.. How many out there have received "the letter?" I am on Medicare and have a Supplemental Insurance not Medicare Advantage. I have done a lot of research that states the same thing...Medicare and Supplements will not be affected by this mess the government is ordering us to participate in.

I have yet to receive the 2014 rates of Anthem BCBS nor has my Broker. To get me started on the socialist government we are now entering in to would not be a great idea as I really didn't want to make this a political based question. But alas, Obama has done this for me.

Thoughts?

We didn't receive "the letter", per say, but when our open enrollment info came we had no options! We will have to change to Kaiser, a different HMO from what we have had which means I will lose my rheumatologist. Our old HMO was such a mess but at least I finally knew how to fight for what we needed. Now we are starting over AGAIN!!! My hubby and I agree that if I can't get what I need from Kaiser, I will just pay my regular rheumatologist cash... won't be easy but will be much cheaper than the other options!

Sandy, I actually did that once. Due to my husbands insurance plan, my Rheumatologist wasn't in "network" so I paid her for my visits. She had been my Dr. for 16 years and no way in hell was I going to loose her. In fact she rarely even charged me. Fortunately insurance got straighten out after about 6 months, and I could see her again.

Best of luck sorting your stuff out.
