A friend gave me a Migun massage table! It feels so good, heated massage! They sell for around $5k (which is a little gimmicky, curing even the common cold) and pricey! But for free, I will take it! Tried it last night worked great, I have to put more towels between my SIJ and the heated jade balls, as they are hard, but should be able to do two treatments a day. Hopefully help with the PsA stiffness. At least will give temporary relief without having to pay someone $100 for a massage…
Jon, maybe you should rent it to members of this forum! Congrats, anything that brings relief is good news!
OMG I’d love one of those!!! Too speedy, tho…
My daughter gave me a chart with 5 stretching exercises and I’ve started doing them a couple times a day…they are helping!!!
I could mount it on a trailer and drive from member to member…
It’s a long way by trailer to the UK!
pontoons and paddles!
Wow, that’s the kind of friend to have, Jon! It sounds wonderful. Rather than putting it on a trailer, I think you should set up a corner with warm breezes and windchimes where PsA members can drop in and get soothed. And if none of us show up, you’ll just have to use it yourself!
That’s terrific! I’m looking up the infrared heated mats with stones. A friend of ours have me a light to try but I have TOO many areas for one light to work on! It’d be a full time job! I see used beds for sale on FB but I’m not sure about spending any amount of money and not know HOW well they treated the machine. I watched a video and the man said don’t sit on the balls when you lay down, or you might damage it. When you end, make sure they come to a stop near the head
Good deal. Enjoy. I’ll keep looking. I agree. I spent too much money on deep tissue massage. They hurt SO BAD but have me 2 days off relief. I’d have to take a pain med just to go get one!
Not enough ppl talk about the tendinitis. Sometimes I hear ppl getting joint replacements and I’m thinking, what if it’s really just the tendons?
My story was that my Dr threw me in a pain clinic with neck pain and no DIAGNOSIS. I say in there for years b4i “failed” out and it was “time for neck surgery”. When one surgeon said I wasn’t ready. Another told me “I’ll do if you want it” red flag. Finally pursued different rheumies and had to wait for DACTYLITIS and TAKE A PIC of it! For Drs to FINALLY… YEARS OF SUFFERING… Get a diagnosis. That hip pain I had years ago? The one the stupid pain clinic guy injected and didn’t work? Was my IT BAND!!!
Beware of the tendons and ligaments!
I did buy a roller on Amazon to try self massage. It all helps. Just got to do it.
Peace y’all!
Good advice about not sitting on the jade balls.
I don’t think a lot of people could handle this level of deep tissue massage, I have been getting it for some time, it does not seem to bother me, a little tender in the SIJ area, those stones are hard!
Could be a problem with buying used beds, especially the older ones, they are not supported by the company, it is kind of a scam really, they want you to buy it only from a distributor. If something goes wrong with this I can send it to Los Angeles, so not a big deal, but not to many service centers. But it was free, so what the heck?
I am mainly trying to work on my calcified posterior tendons and muscles running along the spine, might be to late for them, but worth a try. It resembles AS but the Rheumy said it is actually DISH, the ligaments calcify, and fuse the spine, or look fused. Spine looks like a Salvador Doli painting of melting clocks. It is like melted wax…
Awe. I’m so sorry. I guess we all have to have something. Do you ever use Prednisone?
Only tried it once, it was prescribed by my foot doctor a couple of months ago, I felt great! My Rheumy’s have always refused to give me any.
Totally agree, LaMomma. I had various types of pain (and bad pain, like waist to toes, which kept me awake at night) for years, but rarely in the joints. I also had “plantar fasciitis” in the feet. Doc insisted it was lack of exercise/needing to lose weight/needing to learn to relax/ needing orthotics/ and finally OCD. All my own fault, in other words. I got to the point of erosions in the foot joints before “they” took notice. I think the tendinitis is the thing that “they” blow off as being just … oh …nothing really, and, IMO, that’s how a lot of PsA diagnoses are missed.
In the case of joint replacements, though, they won’t do those without x-ray evidence of serious joint damage. But joint damage can also be from wear and tear, so I guess you could have joints replaced and still have nobody question that it could be the result of anything but being old and fat, like me.
Yup, it’s a slippery fish to catch, this disease of ours.
PS our newest member, @Flstc1, who I approved about 10 minutes ago, describes what sounds like tendinitis issues to me.
Let’s welcome John from Chicago to the group!
Seenie
I think a lot of what we think it tendinitis is a actually a type of enthesitis, since Cimzia is working for me to calm the enthesitis, my muscles are much more relaxed and the tendons are not as taught. Pain that I thought was permanent damage is gone… (knock on wood!)
Thank you Seenie. Glad to hear you are getting relief!
Right. I actually used them as interchangable. But with the emphasis on connective tissue as opposed to the Bone. I’m glad to hear that something I HAVEN’T TRIED…ie cimzia Is working for you and works on the tendons. Bcz I’m afraid that cosentyx is starting to fail. It’s awful. I’m running thru these meds so quickly
So good to hear Jon! Cimzia was good for me too
Welcome to the group! Sorry you have to join us, but we are glad to have you!
@LaMomma, are you on the 150mg or 300mg dose of Cosentyx. Because if it’s the 150mg - you at least have the chance of increasing it to 300mg. If it is the 300mg if you’ve not been on 6 months, it still has a chance of proving itself. Crossing fingers for you.
Hi! I’m so sorry! I always forget to check this site. I’m on 150mg. I’m going to ask Dr in March about going up.
