I switched to injection on MTX about 6 weeks ago. I have brusing at the injection site that last two weeks or so and it is very tender to the touch for about the same time frame. Is this normal. I also have the metalic taste in my mouth that make every thing taste the same. I was hoping it would go away after awhile but no such luck. Is this typical.
Did you back aspirate a bit befire you inject to make sure you didn't hit a vein? It sounds a bit like a " mechanical problem. The taste thing is fairly normal but passes for most

No. The neddle is so short and my hands do not work well so that is a problem. I have tried at an angle and that seem to work somewhat better the bruse is in a straight line... about 3/4" inch long and about 1/4" wide. I have tried to go slow and fast with the injection. I am injecting in the... well let face it fat on my stomach. The only instruction that I was given was to inject 2 finger widths away from my belly button and wipe with the bottle and the injection site with the alcohol.
You need better instructions., although it sounds like you have figured it out.

NEVER that close to the belly button. TOO EASY to bruise, because there are lots of blood vessels there. A couple of inches is more like it.
