I do sometimes feel sad thinking I could do more for my 2 cats, but at the end of the day all they want is love! Like everybody,it’s hard to feel positive wen ur in pain.god help us
My cats love to snuggle up with me. I can always count on one or two cats to come join me for a nap in bed, and one of my cats loves to fall asleep on me whenever I fall asleep on the couch. Of course, the third cat, who doesn't like to snuggle with me, makes me a bit crazy at times, but he is just very silly. They are excellent company for me, and much less work than a dog.
I refer to one of my cats, Lola, as my therapy cat. I even blogged about her...
My pets have always been the bright spot in my day, no matter how awful I feel. Even my son's tiny gerbils make me smile. When I call them they pop out of their house and run to see if I have a little treat for them. Right now I also have 2 bunnies whose nose twitching and carrot nibbling are SO relaxing. My kitties love to nap near me wherever I am. My dog is 2 yrs gone but he was so wonderful.
The nice things about pets is they are judgement free. As long as you do basic care and love them, they love right back.
I find sometimes pets love too much! I am the daughter of a veternarian and I have always had animals. We have two dogs, three cats and three chickens right now. I use to house sit for a friend of mine who had a guinea pig. She got so use to my voice and my feeding her that she would squeal like a big pig every time I came to see my friend and she heard my voice. Too funny! i think our pets are therapy for us. I know all of my pets are happier now that I am home full time.
nym- I think Lola is just beautiful! What a love she is. You are blessed.
Three cats and a dog. The cats are sweet but aren't the snuggly kind. The dog on the other hand really picks up on my mood. She's a little nutty most days, but if I'm down or immobilized she will lay by me for hours at a time without moving.

Oh Jane she is so sweet! Look at those eyes! Can I borrow her?
Sure thing. Although she tends to puke in the car after 30 minutes!

Uh oh I live in Vermont! Does she puke in the ca EVERY 30 minutes, that would be a long car ride! How about if I trade you a non house broken rescued pug with a heart of gold? Or maybe 2 cats for one dog...........
Usually just once. Then there's a lot of foaming at the mouth. We may be able to figure out a trade--perhaps with some maple syrup to sweeten the deal?
My husband has hives, maybe some honey and maple syrup to really sweeten the deal?!
OK--I'll stick Mabel in a box and include my address for some honey and maple syrup. I'll laminate the address as she's sure to barf on the way.
I guess it would be best to use the overnight service......wouldn't want her to get too dehydrated. How would you like Abby, the unhousetrained pug, delivered? Maybe Santa's sleigh?
Santa could bring her but I don't know if he's stopping at mine. More naughty than nice I fear.

Me too! Maybe an untrained pug with a heart of gold is the "punishment" for all my naughtiness.........
When I was first diagnosed a year and a half ago my family got me a puppy. He has helped me so much even when no one wants to be around me he is always there. When I'm having a bad day mustang will not leave my side. Don't think I could go through this with out my loyal best fiend
Agreed. Mabel says "ahhwoowoowoo". Really. That's what she sounds like!

Abby, my pug, is unable to bark. I examined her when she was first rescued and her vocal cords are in tact. Some really horrible puppy mills clip cords to keep the noise down. I have had her for 5 years and only one little squeek when over excited by food, of course. She scared herself and there has never been a repeat performance. She has learned to wag her tail and to play. She rolls on her back in her bed every night after dinner. You can almost hear her sigh with pleasure. We have three cats, 2 dogs and 3 chickens. I could tell you funny stories all night but it's probably best to say they make me smile even when I can barely walk or eat!
