Humira injection site rash

I took my third shot of Humira on Thurs. and again i have a rash around the injection site about the size of a manderine orange that feels like a giant mosquito bite. Raised red and itchy. I iced it. The inflammation goes down in about 3-4 days but it stays red for a week and a half. If anyone else has this problem too what do you do to relive the itchyness ?

I use Benadryl gel when I get any itchy irritation from any of the biologics I've taken.

Definitely call your doc about the reaction too.

Yes, keep the doc or your biologics nurse informed. That’s the reaction I had for about six weeks. After that it started to gradually diminish. Now that I’m on week 11, it has gone from being a mosquito bite about the size of an orange to being the size of a quarter, and from lasting 5-6 days to disappearing in about 2. I think I’ll be over it soon.

I use ice and benadryl cream. The cream worked better than the pills, and it doesn’t make me dozy.

I had a site reaction to the autoinjector pen but I don't have any reaction when using the pre-filled syringe.

Thank you everyone. your replies were very helpful. Yes I did get a hold of my nurse and she gave me the info you did and that I had figured. I am using the benedryl gel topically, taking benedryl before bed and icing it too. I still get the same size reaction but it is going away faster.

I am hoping the same will happen with me and my reaction will diminish. This time it went down in swelling in 2 instead of 4 days. I am on week 10. thank you for your helpful reply.
