Would you be interested in a gardening/garden/plant lovers/nature group?

Hi everyone

We've got several members with lovely flower and plant names and it's got me thinking about how much I love my garden, beautiful flowers, shrubs and the heady scents of flowers and foliage and nature generally.

At the moment I've got some orange fluted tulips which smell amazing (something like fruity boiled sweets) and an incredible viburnum in flower which is filling the garden with perfume. This time of year I also wax lyrical about the beauty of a Beech wood, those delicate pale green leaves just starting to unfurl, underlaid with a carpet of the purest English bluebells. Heavenly :)

Sometimes I think we get so bogged down with our PsA, especially when it steals our abilities get outside and enjoy activities such as walking in the countryside or gardening, that it takes a magical moment with nature to remind us of the pleasure available from simple things like the beauty or scent of a flower, the crispness of a frost, a glimpse of a scenic view, the majestic shape of a tree ....the list is endless. I know it never fails to make me feel better.

Would there be enough interest if I set up a Group where we could step away from our PsA for a few moments to share our photos or just our magical moments in nature or even hints and tips to get round the obstacles PsA places before us in growing our plants?

Let me know what you think.

Jules

I wish this was smelly-vision for you ... and I wish I could find how, on my tablet, to get this the right way round, grrrrr!

I love gardening, but can only put plants in pots for a couple of reasons. First, we are renting. Also, we live in Florida, so some of the plants I love the most don’t grow as well here (glads, irises, lilac, etc). And the other reason is I just don’t have the energy I did even a year ago. I have had beautiful gardens I made from bare patches of ground in both Kentucky and Georgia (we keep moving south). However, I would love to read about members gardening and would enjoy seeing pics. I will always have a pot of zinnias. In fact, I bought seeds like a month ago and haven’t had the time or energy to get them planted yet. Soon. Maybe today.

This week, here in Spain, I learnt about the joy of admiring other peoples flowers, wildflowers, and the scent of Seville orange, which is almost everywhere! I have no way to download the pictures to my tablet, but if you set up the group, once I have them, I’d love to share!

I would love to be part of a group!

I did some planting today. Arrangement of new flowers in the front yard. Though, my brain fog is strong these days. I can't remember the names. I should make little plant cards for them, oh well!

I also have a fig, peach, and lemon tree!!

I added several new herbs to my window boxes today. I enjoyed the smells of the herbs and the sunshine. I have limited energy, methotrexate injection yesterday. Thanks to this site I know fatigue SE to the medication is normal. I am so grateful for this site. I would enjoy a gardening group.

Not a bad idea. I do mostly vegetables.

Our new Nature & Gardening Group is up and running.

Look forward to seeing you there :)
