Weak feet and ankles

Lately my feet have been hurting from plantar facitis. Usually it is my right foot. I had problems with my left foot a few years ago before my PSA diagnosis. My toes almost always hurt but now I feel when I walk that I am off balance and shuffling along for fear of falling. I take meloxicam once aday and tramadol 50mg 2 tablet up to 3 times a day. Every 7 weeks I get Rimicade and it has been 4 weeks since my treatment.

Any suggestions or experience in this?

How long have you been on the Meloxicam/Tramadol combination? the two are okay together but for some reason from time to time they have an effect on your blood pressure. It doesn't take much of a change to throw one into a tizzy. I'd keep track of it for a while and see if it changes. if you don't have record at home call your docs nurse and she should be able to email you the office history (its usually higher in the office than at home) The new protocol from the Remicade people is every 6 weeks, but I doubt thats the issue. The other thing is it could be a nerve issue (spinal) hows your hips and lower spine doing?

Until you can get with your doc and get this figured out PLEASE Make sure you are stable. A broken hip is worse. Do you have a cane? I tried meloxicam a while back wihout much effect after the first few weeks. its one of the milder NSAIDS a change is worth disusing. Sometimes for the peripheral stuff you need more.

I 'm sure others with more "foot experience" will chime in. That's seems to be a pretty in common problem....

Thanks I have had some lower back and hip pain. i am scheduled for repeat xrays in a week. I have been doing the meloxicam/ tramadol combo for about 1 year. I did try another NSAID but had anxiety with it. This waddle thing is new. I usually have low blood pressure but I will follow up with my doc if continue to be persistant. I have not considered a cane. Hope it doesnt get to that.

I was on Meloxicam and had to get off of it because it made my joints worse; everything hurt and my feet were really swollen. I have been taking Nabumetone and it works ok, it does not prevent the pain but it does help me to recover from pain quicker. I take it with dinner and in the morning I feel better again. Talk to your doctor there are lots of options out there and you always want to watch out for your balance issues. Are you getting light headed or have brain fog? How are your Iron levels, when my iron is low I have problems with my balance and being light headed. I hope this info helps and your appointment with your doctor goes well.

A cane is pretty handy. You can wake up a spouse, slide the ketchup, prop open a door, go t the head of the line in Disneyland, turn off the TV when the remote is lost.... My favorite though is it stops the stares when you have to use your disabled parking pass.

Yep, I have nerve damage under my toes. The Doctors have told me that it had nothing to do with my PsA; however, I got it after I got the PsA. I think that it is a secondary offshoot of the PsA, kind of like when my neck swells, the tendons in my shoulders get inflamed. No, there is no arthritis in my shoulder tendons, but I say that PsA CAUSES it. I love Enbrel, it saves me from the damage from occurring. I always said that I lived in the stone age, or ANY age up until just about now, I would have been dead!

Oh how true.
