Tooth issues

hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a connection between this disease and tooth/gum disease? I’m pretty sure that I found info between periodontal disease and AS (that is, people with AS have a higher occurrence of periodontal disease than normal population).

I’m really wondering because I have HORRIBLE teeth issues that I would like to blame on something other than not being able to take care of them LOL.

I think I remember another thread about teeth issues. I’m planning to ask my dentist as I’ve had a lot of problems in the past but have been alot better since my PsA is under control. Also realised that I haven’t had any mouth ulcers for ages (used to get at least one or two a month) since everything is settling down…Definitely worth asking your dentist, they may have some answers

I also have lots of dental issues, which are only compounded by my dentist phobia! Sedation dentistry has saved me quite a few teeth.

Put this in the list of things that make you go HMMMM. I have been wondering about that. I have had excellent teeth my entire life until about four years ago and then I started to have issues with cavities and breaking teeth. I don't eat sweats that much, am not a soda drinker anymore and I don't chew anything. I do clench my teeth when I sleep and it is part of my inflammatory fibro. I have done this so hard in recent months I broke my own front bottom tooth. I was not aware that it happened until I woke up and saw the damage. I have had to have a few teeth removed because the damage went into the jaw and I did not even feel the cavity because of other issues caused by my stenosis and the numbness that it causes. So be careful and tell miss dental pick the same thing. WE do not feel things like other folks do. I take extra good care of my teeth now and my dentist is very aware of my other conditions.
