Thumb joint replacement surgery

Has anyone had joint replacement of the MP joint in the thumb? Mine is frozen solid, but very painful. I have been wearing a brace, and using Voltaran topical NSAID cream, but does not help. I am scheduling another elbow surgery on my left elbow, so was going to ask if the thumb can be worked on too.
Might be extra painful because I am at the end of my Remicade cycle. Looks more like wear and tear OA, but who knows?

There was a post a while back from someone in the UK from memory who was looking at a total wrist replacement.

Have you had a steroid injection yet? You may also want to look into working with an occupational therapist who might be able to help get it moving again and less painful.

No, I have not gone back to the hand surgeon, I am sure he would love to inject some more cortisone… I think the pain is mostly caused by damage to the joint, instead of temporary inflammation, so I don’t know how well a steroid would do for it? I think the main way the shot helps, it hurts so bad injecting the stuff that you forget about your old pain!
Studied up on the subject some more, appears they prefer to fuse the MP thumb joint, it is almost there right now…

My main problem with specialists, I have so many areas that need attention, that it is hard to focus on one joint, they rightfully want to laser focus on a single joint, currently it is the elbow with another ulnar transition surgery, so I don’t want to go back about the fingers, Carpel tunnel, wrist, etc… They all ready roll their eyes when I come in to a office visit.
