PT......Working better than meds!

I’ve been suffering with lower back pain and SI joint pain for a few months. I talked with my PCP about it and he sent me to PT. (Why has my rheumy not recommended this?) I am not one that is physically active outside of my work so I was reluctant but hopeful. I have only had 2 sessions so far but WOW! what a difference. My back pain is so much better already. My therapist has RA so she is very understanding and has personal experience with inflammatory arthritis. She told me today to let her know what other areas are causing me pain or discomfort and she would help with those areas as well. I cannot begin to express how relieved I am that a few simple exercises can bring me such relief. I plan to become more physically active with her help.

So if your not active due to pain, do not be fearful of trying PT!

Just to add to PT, try water areobics. Since I have PSA in my hips,I need no impact exercise. Simply get a water noodle and you would be good to go!
