my foot has been going numb since July. I Have been to the rhumey 3 times since them and I always mention it. every time we have switched meds and i was always hopefully my ankle/foot would feel better.
I started Humira 6 weeks ago. and am starting to feel some relief in my joints. but my foot is still going numb. i have made an appointment with my GP to see if there is anything he can suggest?
I am also having problems with my hands as well shooting pain an weakness.
I"m wondering if this is PsA related or am i developing a neuropathy? (darn dr google)
If there is a lot of inflammation it can compress nerves, and this can cause tingling, numbness, etc. You need to rule out back problems as well. There are lots of people here with neuropathy. You may want to do a search.
Yes, Stoney, that’s right. I had nerve conduction tests done on my feet because I was having weird numbness and tingling. The neurologist’s opinion was exactly that: swelling of the tissues in the feet was putting pressure on the nerves. It has, indeed, improved greatly with Enbrel. Took the better part of a year, though.
But that is just me. You need to have this checked out by your doc. I’d just be straight up with the doctor and say that I was worried about what was happening to the nerves in my feet, and should I be seeing a neurologist to rule out other causes besides the PsA.
I’ve been putting off seeing the doctor. But I have finally had enought and I am going after work tomorrow. There is a neurology clinic in the hospital I work at. I’m hoping I can get refers there. Or at least order the nerve conduction for my hands and feet. I’m just hoping he will do something other then tell me to talk to the rheumy
I would say make a pitch to get the testing done ASAP in the interest of saving time. Otherwise you will have to wait to see the rheumie and then wait for the testing and wait to see the rheumie again.
Good! That’s progress. My GP sent me for an EMG cuz she was convinced I had tarsal tunnel syndrome. Nope … LOL
Here’s hopping The Bunny is good to you!
