New doctor

I have had it with my gp and need to find a new one. Problem is that I have no idea how to go about doing that. Any suggestion would be helpful

First, see who takes your stupid insurance (and new patients) if you are in the US.

Second, ask around. Friends, family members, especially people who you perceive as being somewhat like-minded. Ask your pharmacist- they deal with them all the time and may have good insight. Your rheumy or another specialist you have a relationship with might have some leads.

Third, look at the online rating sites. They are far from infallible, but are worth a look. Read between the lines- someone else's description of a nightmare may sound OK to you. If a number of people complain about sitting in the waiting room for hours or a rude office staff, and those things make you nuts, that's a red flag.

Good luck!
