I know there have been other foot threads on here and I am reading some of them. My feet have not bothered me like this for a long time. I mean they have been sore, bit they are just all wacked out at the moment, from my ankles and achilles tendons to my toes and even the tops of them. Sometimes they feel like they are "buzzing" or vibrating, which is really weird !
When I get home from an outing, I can't wait to get my shoes off (even before my bra, and that's saying something.) The cold floor feels so good when they hurt like this. I wonder what I could slather on them to make them feel better. I hope my Stelara comes soon !
I use a peppermint foot balm on my feet a lot. Almost every night. I have also used Bio freeze mixed with hand lotion. I hate it when my feet throb also. But heck no, the bra comes off first.!
Do you have a lot of swelling? It could be causing some of that buzzing feeling. I get that in my hands when the swelling is more extreme, especially in my wrists. Ice is always good to help calm some of this down. The running joke with my doctor is that if I'm icing, it must be really bad. I have Raynaud's, so if I'm putting ice on my hands or feet it must be really really bad.
Yes, they are swollen. Last night I wrapped up some ice packs that came with my last batch of Humira in some towels and rested my arches on them. It felt really good ! Peppermint foot cream would probably be soothing, or maybe I will try some Tiger Balm. I have had four babies and my feet were never this puffy. I don't have any pitting edema on my shin, so I guess that's good.
Buzzing-fizzy---yep! I was just wondering if a couple of the small salonpas taped across those really sore or throbbing spots on your feet would help...I bought a pack of them for my neck, but now that I thought of it, I'm gonna try them on my feet tonight. They work pretty well for my neck.
The tops of my feet started hurting a cpl days ago and yesterday they were so bad I finally did take some acetaminophen and put the salonpas patches on them. It took about 2 hours before the pain let up. I was limping, but wondering why this happened-the Enbrel had been working so well for the first few weeks! I always wonder-when there's a flare-what I did to cause it?--something I ate? It always seemed like sweets, particularly, ice cream used to feed the neuropathy in my feet.
It was disturbing yesterday, but so far this morning they feel okay. Hopefully the Stelara will help you!
You just started Enbrel a few weeks ago, right? It can take time for it to really start working, so it simply may just be starting. I certainly would not consider the Enbrel to be a failure. It took me a good few months to realize that joints had stopped hurting all of the time. For the first 3 or 4 weeks, I just noticed a slight improvement for a few days every week, and then it started covering more of the time, and better.

Thanks, y'all. Micheal, who makes the best Peppermint Cream? I suppose I could make up an essential oil blend and try that. I have some sweet almond oil and essential oil of peppermint. I have a matching pair of these ankles ! And it feels like something is gnawing on my toes. Ugh.
The one I like the best is by Earth Therapeutics "Intensive Heel Repair" with Tea Tree Oil and Peppermint and Alpha-Hydroxy Fruit Acid. But I have some upstairs that I bought at Walmart that was less expensive but I do not remember who it was by.
I looked at the name of the foot cream I have upstairs when I went to bed last night- It is by Freeman and is called "Peppermint Foot lotion". It was less expensive than the other one.
"Cool!" Pun intended :) I will probably order from vitacost.com ! I found out today that my Stelara was approved and I am so ready for a fix. I hope to get it next week. I have hobbled all over the place for days and it's really getting old. I want the toe nibbling gremlins to go away.
I don't have any toe nibbling gremlins but I do hobble. I do not use a cane in the house but I hobble from furniture. My spine is what is killing me. If I walk, if I sit or lay down, yuck! In my recliner I have no pain. At least it isn't Ebola!
Is the Stelara not helping your back pain ? I read somewhere that it has helped folks with AS, but who knows. My sacrum, hips and knee hurt too, but right now the pain amplification is turned up on my feet. Yes, I am very thankful not to have Ebola, that is just too horrible to contemplate.
I have had the 2 loading doses and it helped quite a bit. Next injection is Sept. It really is too early to tell. I have been grateful for what relief I all ready have had. I may be flaring due to other reasons. But the last 2 days were a killer! I rubbed my feet with lotion and but my softest socks on.
