Grommets and tonsils

After complaining about my reduction of hearing, balance, dizziness and full ears I have been told today I have fluid in my middle ears and need grommets inserted. The specialist also advised I need a tonsillectomy which my rhuematologist had told me they wouldn’t do. The ENT said the fluid could be from the PsA or the medications as it isn’t common in adults. Anyone else have this problem and was it rectified by the grommets. If you had a tonsillectomy was it successful and did it take a very long time to recover

I don't have any anwers for you, but after reading this, I realized I have been having ear issues too. I will get this checked out, thanks for posting and I hope you get well soon.

I had my tonsils out almost 8 years ago, I think. I was having recurrent strep, and it was clear that it wasn't going to go away as long as I still had my tonsils. Plus I was feeling time pressure, as we were trying to conceive, and couldn't start the process when I kept being sick. This was prior to my diagnosis with PsA.

The surgery wasn't horrible, but my throat did swell up quite badly that night, and we needed to get an emergency prescription for a steroid dose pack. That got me over the hump, no problem. Haven't had any problems since then, even when my kids have had strep.

I wish you luck with this. I've been having problems with my ears as well. I did have all sorts of testing done. At that point my hearing tested normal, but I do have problems hearing when there is too much background which I never used to have trouble with. I do have balance problems, which are worse when the activity level is higher. Don't really know how far I want to go to pursue it though.

Thanks

I will be hopeful it fixes all those issues. Two less yucky things to deal with will be great. If only Psa was so easy to fix.
