Got my biologic!

Hi everyone,

Just back from my rheumatologist appointment and gotten the go ahead for Simponi. Had the TB blood test at my last appointment, and gotten a chest X-ray last time too. So it’s just a case of waiting for the company to contact me to arrange a visit. The only downside is I’ve to remain on MTX, which has caused some crappy side effects, but I’ll keep on it if it improves the efficacy of the Simponi.

I’ve not been on a biologic before so have high hopes and I’ve been hibernating for the past 6 months, with swollen joints and just generally miserable. Maybe I shouldn’t be too hopeful but it’s hard not to be excited when I’ve been so swollen and tired for so long.

I’ve an excellent rheumatologist, and have another appointment with her at the end of February to check how it’s going. My fingers are crossed that it’s good news by then.

Just wanted to share my good news, and let everyone know how a positive Rheumy appointment can make the world of difference. I’ll keep you all updated on how I’m getting on with the Simponi,

Thanks for reading, and for all the great advice I’ve gotten from this website,

Kath

So glad for you, MsKath! You have a rheumatologist that you like and aggressive treatment. Once I got to that point, the course of my disease changed and with it, my life.

I hope it all goes well for you.

Great news!

It might take a bit of time to see big improvements, but everything that should be done is being done & you’ve got the best chance possible of coming out of hibernation in style! No wonder you’re excited.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on. Good luck & well done!

Two thumbs up!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:
