Gluten

A close friend has talked me into trying a gluten free diet. I’ve heard of this before and didn’t really consider it as something that would help. But she’s had a lot of luck with it so I’ve decided to give it a chance.

Today was my first 100% gluten free day. I stocked up on some foods yesterday and made sure to include some of the gluten free junk food things to hopefully be less tempted by their gluten counter parts.

I overcame an eating disorder years ago and any sort of diet restrictions can really get out of hand for me so I’m trying to make sure that doesn’t kick back up.

My first skin p started when my eating disorder was at it’s worst and a part of me blames it on how I was was mistreating my body during that time.

I would love for this to help me. I’m keeping a personal journal of symptoms to be able to record any changes.

I’ve also found coconut oil! I’ve been using it on my inverse p and it’s helped with the pain a lot. It’s not done much for the non-inverse p though.

I know it’s odd but I think it’s helping my hands a little, but I’m under a lot less stress than I was a short while ago so that could be it too.

 I feel pretty optimistic.

Hi Lena, good luck with your GF diet. I tried it years ago for my M.E/CFS, it's a lot easier now with GF foods so readily available. good idea writing down and keeping track. be careful and watch out for that eating disorder creeping up on you, but hopefully that's all behind you.

try not to be too hard on yourself about the eating problem. it's hard not to look back and think " if I'd done this differently, or not worked so hard, not eaten that, not done that" you got sick, it's not your fault. glad your stress is better though, that can only help.

Hope some of this made sense, my brain fog is working overtime today.:) just wanted to wish you luck and look forward to hearing how your experiment goes. MrsD

Hi Lena,

I agree about reducing the gluten, over the last few decades I would like to share that also pork, alcohol, stress and too much sugar can all collectively add to the problem. I was once totally free from pSA for a couple of years and the diet aspect, even though I hated it, after a few months actually showed improvement. This was long before I got involved with 6 specialists and almost every noxious drug medicine had to offer, as well as the side-effects that develop sometimes shorthly and sometimes after months or years. My case was so bad when I first went to the hospital in the early 70s, they gave me free treatment and medicine in exchange for allowing pictures of my sometimes hand size lesions to be taken and placed into the medical books and handouts. This was done back when there still was such a thing as a doctor visiting you at home...But as the few years of clarity passed, and I started up my bad eating and smoking and drinking also, the disease very quickly became widespread again, and then took many years to even get partially under control. Medical science is not exact, nor are the drugs they give us and most certainly the individual systemic reaction to our own particular genetic makeup. So, I wish you all the best in your battle and will cheer you on, a smile and good karma helps not only the body but the soul also. There was one OTC product I took religiously for decades that di help, no side effects, but expensive-it was called Pychnognenol, made for the Maritime tree bark. I think the Indians used it as a heal all long before it had a name or was commercially produced. Took a long time to see and feel the betterment, but was lasting assuming I stayed on course with my other don't as I mentioned above. Happy Tuesday:)
