Been taking 15mg of Meloxicam for a couple of years now. Just in the past couple of month my joints seem more sore than usual. No swelling, redness, tenderness, or warmth, just a dull, sore, ache. The Remicade seems to be taking care of the auto-immune part of things. Does any know if Meloxicam can lose it's effectiveness after being on it for a long period of time?
Yup, it sure can in my experience anyway. Have your doc try a different NSAID. You should know in a week or so whether its or NSAID or something else. FWIW I have been rotating through the "four dollar list" (walmart) for ever. The interesting thing is I have come back to several and they are as effective as the first time.
I also rotate NSAID. Sometimes I take Celebrex and sometimes Naprosyn or Aleve. I tend to avoid Ibuprofen after a nasty bout with esophageal spasms (who knew there was such a thing!) I find a few months on one or the other and I switch seems to work well. I have also tried Diclofenac a few months but for me it was not as effective. I also take them with Tylenol which helps my pain level as much as the vicodin did.
Yep I agree, I’ve been on meloxicam for a couple of years now, and naproxen before that. I know its time to change as my pain has been increasing generally over the last few months, this week I stopped taking the meloxicam and I’ve noticed no difference to my pain levels which suggests to me that it is no longer working for me
You are kidding me. I have recently developed these and they SUCK. i am not a fan. I’m switching to aleve tomorrow to see what happens. Weird!

Thanks for the replies. Got in touch with my rheumy who wrote a script for some Celebrex. Found out my copay for a month is 75 bucks. Looks like I'll be sticking with the Meloxicam.
