I think My Remicade is now stopping working ... anyone else experience this?

I have been on Remicade for 4 years now , I go every 4 weeks. I also take Methotrexate every sunday which is god awful ,and Im finding that I cannot stomach the pills any longer and really want to be switched to the injection . Anyway the last month or so I have been in the most god awful flare up of my life . Stiff joints and Im freezing cold all the time. ALL I do is work and sleep , and CRY .... Even the morphine dosent help my pain ... Thank god today I was put on Prednsione. They just did an MRI on my hip to rule out Osteonecrosis..... I feel like Im falling apart !! I know Im not alone !!!! Has anyone else experienced the wearing off of Remicade and needing to switch ???? Im so scared to change drugs ...... Remicade has the highest percentage rate for effectiveness but Im so sick of needles and the hospital ...... I see my Rheumatologist Tuesday thank god ~~~ Im also thinking I need Lyrica for my Fybro ... Has that helped anyone ????

I have been on all the biologics except Remicade. After about a year I have to switch to a different one. Right now I am on Enbrel and it has stopped working. I am being scheduled to start Remicade next week. I believe that with our over active immune systems we build up immunity to a biologic and have to switch to another one. Do talk to your doctor about it. I inject 22.5 mg of mtx every Sunday, I believe it is still working but I do tolerate it injected better than taking orally. Good luck to you and do talk to your doctor, he/she might have some good ideas.

Yeah I get physically ill now when I take the oral MTX ... I need to switch to Injection . The Remicade was great for me , we shall see what the Doc says in regards to switching ! I think I have built up an immunity to it !~

I can't comment on the Remicade but I was not tolerant of oral Methotrexate. The shots are much better and very easy to administer. I still get a little messed up appetite-wise. I still experience nausea but not like before. More of a feeling of being perpetually full so not really wanting to eat. Which is good as I'm also taking Prednisone and _just_ started Enbrel. Hope you get some relief and some answers,
