I just stepped off the scale… I was 182 pounds same weight as my military days. That makes 115 pound since my stroke Jan 13,2017. HOWEVER I look nothing like my military days. Dunno why… Perhaps its the lack of a morning “Airborne Shuffle”
Wow! That is seriously impressive!
Congratulations, what an achievement! Now what you need to do to celebrate is to go out and get a life-sized picture of yourself in the military so you can pretend it’s a mirror!
Awesome.
That’s just fabulous!
Awesome!
I had my ‘why I don’t want to take statins’ speech all ready for GP appointment as she had previously been adamant that I needed them for cholesterol.
So there’s a check list for risk factors which would decide my fate. Some days she can’t move too well so she asked me to go & weigh myself. I didn’t have my glasses so, as I realised when I got home, I reported that I weighed about 7 and a half stone. (As opposed to a healthy 10 and a half which is okay IMO).
I don’t think GP was at the top of her game that day. Instead of asking me why I was wasting away, she suddenly decided my risk factors had dramatically reduced so no statins and I didn’t argue. Everything other than weight was the same. Sometimes the tick list approach can work in our favour!
So, a couple of questions, tntlamb…do you take a statin? And, have you heard of the book “The Obesity Code”? My husband read it and lives by the recommendations of the author. His cardiologist told him about it. He’s lost about 60 pounds in less than a year, but he’s still much heavier than 182, which is closer to his ideal weight. He did plateau a few months ago, though, so idk if he’ll ever get to his goal weight.
Congratulations on your huge loss—one loss for which one receives praise!
Wow, that’s great, Sybil! Lucky you! I’m glad you don’t have to experience statins! For some of us, they’re no fun!
Wonderful! Congratulations!
Way to go!
Well last night was our 42 anniversary. Didn’t try on my uniform BUT my wife put on her wedding dress (a simple GunnySack) and me my three peice baby blue suit (with Bell Bottom Pants I might add) from our wedding, then we went out for dinner. My grandaughters are STILL laughing this morning… Thank gosh they were so bemused that they didn’t think to present “evidence” on FB of our senility. BUT the restraunt bought us drinks…
Yes you should be thanking every god that your grandaughters didn’t put that on FB! Congratulations on your anniversary:rofl:
Trouble is I am desperate to see this!
So am I. Very desperate to see this!
C’mon @tntlamb, you’ve got all us old gals desperate
Actually I’d love to see your Missus in the gunny sack, I’m going to guess she still looks elegant as the day you married (even if she feels like some bits are not still in the same place… I know I feel that way
).
Please do share a pic with us!!!
Quite apart from being sure this is a wonderful photo I need to know what a ‘gunny sack’ is. Am I the only one on our side of the Atlantic who is mystified @Poo_therapy?
This is the same as my wifes. Very HOT in the vintage market today. They were made of muslin and all the Hippie girls had one
Now that is a million times more lovely than the name suggests! And your wife looks absolutely gorgeous too.
Happy Anniversary to you both, you old hippies.
It (and she) is beautiful still, BTW they were made from gunny sacks originally (flour sacks actually) and then just the same materials as they gained in popularity. I think she paid like $25.00 cheap even then…
