UK guidelines for biologic treatments of PsA

Thought it might be helpful to all UK members to be able to link to the NICE guidance currently being used by our doctors when treating us with biologics:

NICE TA199: http://publications.nice.org.uk/etanercept-infliximab-and-adalimumab-for-the-treatment-of-psoriatic-arthritis-ta199

Worth noting is that the NICE guidelines do not provide for a second/third biologic if the first one fails, although from what I understand this is not necessarily how the guidance is applied by all health authorities.

The British Society for Rheumatology and British Health Professionals in Rheumatology have also recently published their own guidelines. These, thankfully, are very clear about trying subsequent anti-TNF therapies if the first fails. We can only hope that NICE adopt these guidelines when they undertake their next review. In the meantime, though, they are a powerful argument if you do end up having to fight for a second drug:

Just heard this afternoon that my next biologic (subject to approval of a special funding request) will be golimumab (Simponi) so have downloaded and attach the NICE TA220 guideline for this as well.
