The Impact of Intermittent Fasting (Ramadan Fasting) on Psoriatic Arthritis

It’s an interesting article, but fairly limited in terms of number of participants and length of time. I would be interested in seeing a follow-up.

There are other factors as well. For example, during Ramadan people gather as a community to eat together. Is this part of the reason why there was a difference? It seems as though there may be a correlation, but we don’t know if intermittent fasting on it’s own would have the same impact. Too many other factors that weren’t discussed here.

True, am basing still on personal, current experience of present moment. Can say this; pain and swelling had prior to embarking on a two day fast, interrupted on Monday with carnivore refeed meal , resumed on Tuesday and interrupted again today with carnivore refeed, results so far:
pain in foot, wrist and baker cist bulge diminished / gone, 3 pounds less, feeling of depression changed into good mood, and enhanced cognitive function. Will continue alternated 36 hour or so fasts for a spell as it seems to make me feel better. Of course 1 Am also on prescribed medication therapy, mxt plus biologic, 2 Cannot tell what is happening with disease progression, have read it does not necessarily correspond to symptoms. Still, a good complementary temporay solution to some issues ? All the best,
