There’s certainly nothibg wrong with using pain meds as they’re there to support you when the pain gets beyond the level of tolerance…its not giving in to take them, I just makes sense.

Tell me more about your Transatlantic Cruise..... Wife has me signed up 2014 from Ft Lauderdale to Ireland and other British Isles. These cruise ships are flatbottomed boats not ocean liners.... Seems like it could get pretty rough.

I noticed the other day I was getting incredible heartburn which is odd since I have been on Protonix twice a day since having esophageal spasms summer 2011 that landed me in the ER. I told them it was esophageal spasms as I had done that once before when I delivered David 18 years ago. They did run an EKG etc but also gave me the GI cocktail which ended it 18 years ago. Well when the heartburn started a couple of days ago I decided to pay attention. Today the esophageal spasm started but I took a Vicodin and it never took hold. I finally realized even though my body is trained to not feel pain it is still there and stresses my body. I will be more careful during my current flare not to overdo just because it is the Christmas season. I am telling you this Seenie to point out that pain meds have their problems but so does pain. I use lots of ways to deal with the pain, including being really good at ignoring it but sometimes you just have to take the pain med. I never would have believed Vicodin could cure heartburn!
Lol. Seenie enjoys being teased! Thanks, Louise and MiV for the thoughtful comments. I have a high pain threshold, and I am also pretty good at ignoring, but I’d just got to the point that I couldn’t take it any more. I really am not very nice to live with sometimes. 
Did ok on just 3 tablets today. I will figure this thing out, with a little help from my friends. That would be YoU. <3. (Mousie head for MiV!)

Oh, you make me feel so much better. Thanks. I've got a bad hip, a dog with an upset stomach, company coming, we are snowed in and the doors of my car are frozen shut. And I've got just a bit of shopping to do. Ugh.
