I have been having off and on problems with the only way I know how to describe it is a "stitch" in my back to the side under my ribs. I get these for no reason out of the blue. They stay about an hour and then go away. The site is very sore. Does anyone know if these are PsA related or just some freak thing?
I have no idea. I'm replying to bump this up so it doesn't get lost, in case someone else has a suggestion.
Marietta you are too funny! Very cute! So I will take a "stab" at it!
Costochondritis (sp?) comes to mind. It is when the cartilage in between the ribs get inflamed and tweaked. Also pulling a muscle sounds right. All are common in PsA though also happen for other reasons. As with anything make yourself a note and run it by your physician.
The feeling I often used to get was under my shoulder blade and felt just like a “stitch” too. I have suffered costochronditis for a number if years, even before diagnosis, and have always put it down to that ( doc wasn’t too bothered as it wasn’t on my spine) Mine can last minutes, hours or weeks. But haven’t had it for a few months now. As Michael says, get it checked out
I get sharp, stabby, sharp chest pains. I did say “sharp”, right? My heart is just fine, but I blame my on costrochondritis too. If I hadn’t spoken to my doc about it, I would probably still be worried about it. It was a relief to know it was just my old pal playing tricks on me.
I get them in my back too, but the ones in my chest just hurt so darned much that I had to get it looked at. It hurts to breathe when they come. It’s not as bad in my back.
Ah, the old 'knife in the ribs' feeling. Great, isn't it? It happens to me, too. I've had my heart tested, and it's fine. Doctors have chalked it up to PsA or costochontritis or AS, depending on the day. LOL It's worth a mention to your doctor.
