Shoes

I love NAOT, KEEN, Clarks and ECCO shoes. Barking Dog Shoes website/blog has some great reviews. I live in my Keen Newport H2 for casual wear and workouts. They are so much cooler than running shoes which are hot, to me anyway. I can't stand anything tight on my feet. http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/shoes/men/waterfront/newport%20h2

I also love ECCO's performance sandals http://www.amazon.com/ECCO-Yucatan-Womens-Sandal/dp/B000ZICMEO it is completely adjustable for a custom fit.

These are my dressy shoes. These fit like a dream, lots of support and NO breaking in. http://www.amazon.com/Anne-Klein-Womens-7Bambam-Synthetic/dp/B0082DUIEK/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1404831791&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=Anne+Klien+Bam+Bam

My feet have been really giving me fits for the last year. No sausage toes, but lots of swelling, stiffness, throbbing, aching and gnawing pain. I am miserable when my feet hurt, so well fitting shoes are so essential. I am a very thrifty person, but I simply cannot scrimp on shoes.

When actively flaring, I couldn't wear anything except tennis shoes and Berkenstocks (and yes, I was horrified to admit they helped and worse yet I wanted to wear them to reduce pain!). All other shoes hurt like hell.

But, after switching meds around (Enbrel didn't work for me... Humira has been better), I can now wear other "old" shoes that I simply could not tolerate before. Perhaps some tweaking of medications could allow you to wear what you want? Perhaps not pain free... but tolerable.

I will say, that my feet have "grown" (likely just swelling?) since I contracted this terrible illness. Had a nice (high end) pair of snow skiing boots that I had custom insoles tailored to my feet. Thought I'd give them a try to see if they still fit... Nope! Not even close! Anyway, I digress...
