Not wanting to pry but counselling?

Sybil, you cracked me up!! :joy: When I get mad or really anxious, I go on a bathroom-cleaning binge. I figure if I’m going to be mad or stressed out, I can at least accomplish the most hated cleaning task in my house. Nice to know I’m not alone!

Yeah, even at 11.30pm. Anything’s better than the heebie jeebies. Or rather, like you say, you can be falling to pieces but a clean toilet’s a clean toilet.

Not finished yet as it’s not something that can be read quickly but it’s certainly making me think.

hi Joy66 i don’t know if it will be of help to you. but my daughter found a site www.papaa.org in the list of help is a CBT course which i applied for. it took little time to organise was free & i must say it helped me to look at things from a different perspective. It was an interaction with a computer program rather than a human being. for me this was far easier as there is no awkwardness with talking to a stranger. I would recommend to anyone. Any help you can get, take with open mind. If it helps great, if it doesn’t you have only lost a little time. good luck

After I read it, I found myself going back and re-reading bits later. Plenty of thought-provoking ideas there. And she’s a lawyer, isn’t she, Poo?

Hi there laura_s_dad

Papaa.org is a great resource! I had trouble finding the CBT course that you mentioned. Can you point me to the page?

Thanks!

Hi Seenie, if you go on papaa site on the top menu there is self help catagory. select that & the CBT option is in a drop down menu. if i remember I applied for it & the next day i had message back to say i had been excepted to the e-tips course run by Manchester university. A lot of it is image bias stuff relating to skin psoriasis. I think you have to take what you can out of it. hope this helps.

Thanks so much for this. I will certainly set aside time and do it. Thanks again @laura_s_dad

Didn’t know that or hadn’t copped on to it yet. I’m still reading it slowly…
