At my check up in May, my rheumatologist said that if my symptoms were not significantly improved by my next visit he was leaning towards changing me to Otezla.
Over the last 2.5 years, I’ve had little to no relief from anything I’ve taken including mtx pills, Otrexup, Enbrel and currently Humira. I’ve also been taking Duexis twice a day for the last year and a half.
I go in for my check up in 2 weeks, so I was wondering if anyone else has had no luck with mtx, Enbrel and/or Humira and then had success with Otezla? It’s just so hard to imagine that something is going to work after this long without results
Good luck! I’ve had over a year with limited success on Methotrexate, allergic reaction to Humira and now on Erelzi (biosimilar to Enbrel). My Consultant has just put me back on Methotrexate as well as Erelzi. I’m hoping this mix will work for me. I haven’t been on Otezla yet so can’t comment, but I really hope you get something that works soon.
I personally couldn’t tolerate otezla. It made me very nauseous/vomit, but everyone is different. Sometimes it takes years to find the right combo of meds. I’m in the same boat. I hope you get some relief soon!
I have taken that. I found it helped but the side effects where bad for me. My body did not react to it well. However, if I compared it to taltz and to Consytx both of the biologics worked better for me. I wish you well.
I tried Otezla for 4 months and my psoriasis on my scalp was bad. It also did not help with my PSA at all! I tried this after ten years on Enbrel (I had to stop that because it was causing enlarged lymph nodes). After 4 short months of Otezla I couldn’t handle the pain anymore, so I went on Cosentyx. I have been on that for over a year and I LOVE it! Rarely an ache or pain and zero psoriasis! It’s amazing so far! Good luck with Otezla! If it doesn’t work, just remember there are others to try.
Ended up not going on otezla, my doc decided to try xeljanz instead, i’ve been on it and arava since the first of the year, so hopefully this combo will work.
