How do you handle disappointment? I just dropped a hot berry tea, the whole thing, on my leather chair. Arggg!

I shouldn't freak out it might dry ok, probably not, and it is a huge part of the set. It is just one more betrayal by my right hand, the one that used to be my favorite, the one that started this adventure to diagnosis, the one I was just yelling at like it isn't mine. And my great husband jumped up to help me, while I was acting ridiculous. How do you control overreacting at disappointment?

Are you overreacting? Sometimes what we are yelling about isn’t what’s really bothering us, but that’s okay.

Thanks Stoney,

I guess I am just having a little pity party. By the way, the chair looks pretty good this morning.

Hi Dot,

Sorry this happened. It's tough the first time a body part "betrays" you by suddenly not working as you expect. I'm sure it's happened to most of us here. With treatment, you often get that part back! And heck, when another part goes, you forget about the first one in shock at the 2nd :) Then if everything goes you're thrilled that the first part that went still works a little! :)))

Glad your chair is ok!

Thanks Marietta,

I know I have a lot less trouble than many do here. It is hard though, isn't it?, to just get over never being normal again.

Frustration..., I think I am having a hard time facing reality. I'm sure everyone here just wants to be who they used to be.

Sounds like you know how to look on the brightside.

I get it, have had the same problem some days. It's tough dealing with the pain. I have problem with my hands too and it's frustrating. It's the stress...We all have to let it out eventually.

Thanks Dini

All most as important as you Dot, Hows the chair??? There is a product called Leather Magic (made by Core products) sold in most commercial cleaning supply houses (Janitorial Supply) that will take care of any remnants. this is not a commercial message just a note on how I saved my marriage following a similar incident.

I know your right hand was your favorite but just think how happy your left hand will be after all those years of you playing favorites to finally get its chance :-)

Thanks I am going to check that out because it did dry out and lighten the leather.

I have got myself back together. I already had another incident and my husband was again Johnny on the spot ----which is quite unlike him------and I reassured him that I wasn't having a total breakdown this time and just cleaned up the kitchen floor. It is a better place to drop liquids

Maybe I should just stay in the kitchen. Ha

You could always brew a big pot of tea and "antique" the rest of the couch!

Very smart Louise!!
