Hello!

I am so happy to have found this group! I think I introduced myself earlier, but not sure if I was in the correct section, so please forgive me if this is a duplicate. I am 48 years old, have had psoriasis for 25 years, fingernail psoriasis for 23 years, and just self diagnosed PsA this month. I have had severe neck/upper back pain for 25 years. Hoping to make some friends and learn a lot more about this condition. :)

Hi LittleDeb,
Welcome to the site…One thing I have to ask. Self diagnosed? Sounds like there’s a story there
On some other threads we have discussed, looking back, how long we think we’ve had PsA. Its amazing how long some people suffer without diagnosis.

Thanks for the reply! I am 48 now, but when I was 21 I first got psoriasis. Shortly thereafter I got the finger and toenail psoriasis. Sometime in my mid-20's I started having horrible neck, upper back and shoulder pain. The doctors never believed me about the neck/back/shoulder pain. Just this last year my PCP thought maybe I have fibromyalgia and sent me to pain management. I started to research again, and discovered that with the fingernail psoriasis it was likely that I could have PsA. Went to a rhumetologist and it was confirmed. They sent me to a spine specialist because of the severity in my spine. Now I am just waiting on Humira from the insurance company so I can try to start injections. Tried prednisone, but didn't notice much. I am hoping that the Humira helps. I am thinking I maybe have had PsA since way back in my mid 20's.

How about you? What is your story? Are you in a lot of pain?

Welcome! We are so glad you found us too. This is is such a great site. Got so much support and information here, and this was especially good when I was first diagnosed. I hope you get quick relief for your Humira experiment!

Thank you GrumpyCat!! Love your name :)

Don’t be fooled, LittleDeb! She is nothing like her handle would suggest! LOL
