Hey Janus–when you say WBC, you mean white blood cells I assume? I don’t know much about them, but mine have been on the low end and slightly below the normal range since I started Enbrel…however, there’s more to the WBC count and maybe you’re fine if – brain fog is getting in the way here – some of the white cells are in the normal range–I forgot what they’re called.
I’ve never been prone to infection, so haven’t had any abscesses or that, but being sort of a germaphobe I avoid letting sick people “get in my face” so to speak!
I’m not sure if MTX is harder on the immune system than the biologics are–I suppose it depends on the individual–but hoping if you get on a biologic you will have less trouble with these types of things and, very hopeful you won’t have any SEs that make you feel worse than the disease itself!!!
Janus, I can’t remember, did you ever tell us the size of your MTX dose? How much are you taking?
