Regarding stem cells: The theory is that stems cells injected into damaged tissue will differentiate into the cells needed by the body to repair the diseased tissue. So, theoretically, cartilage could be regenerated on damaged joints, etc. The theory is terrific. Putting it into practice and actually have it work as expected are two different things. Stem cells will likely be “the next big thing”, but science still has much to learn.
