Flare :(

Thanks…I’ll get it soonish but want to talk to my rheumy about the timing of 3rd jab and 2nd shingrex so I don’t stress my system out.

Being careful with the timing makes a lot of sense to me!

Anyone here have their psoriasis flare after the covid vaccines

@Rebel_mom

Hmm. I’ve been in a flare for almost a week now. It started last Thursday. I got my 3rd vax last monday. Hmmmm. Dang it, maybe the vax started it off!!!

I was in a flare for four weeks since my third shot. And my psoriasis has flared since the second shot. It has been an interesting ride.

have been in a flare since third shot had thought it was due to interrupting mxt for two weeks around the jab

I’m getting my 3rd shot next Friday so I’ll watch carefully. I can’t say anything changed on either of the previous two shots though and it appears I’ll be having Pfizer for the 3rd time.

Ugh. I got my third shot, and within a week things went straight downhill. Pain in placeas I didn’t even know I had places. Tired beyond belief. Sore all over. I scored an appointment with my rheumtaologist, and she thinks this miserable state of affairs was brought on by the Covid booster.

She put me on prednisone. I hate prednisone. But I walk really fast when I’m on it. (LOL) AND … and … I have the munchies all the time. You’d think I was high on pot. But no such luck. But at least walking and moving doesnt hurt. So that’s a bonuss.

I see my research rheum next week, and it will be interesting to hear what he has to say.

Will report after I’ve seen my super-specialist next week. At this point, I’m thinking I might have been better off waiting until six months had passed since my last shot, before I got the booster.

Hey @Seenie, sharing your misery is always to our benefit! I’m a bit jealous of your return to prednisone…I long for the good old days of feeling like I could accomplish ANYTHING! But perhaps you will only use it for 7-10 days and get off without any issues. I had the annual flu vaccine 5 days ago and on day 3 I felt like garbage, aches and headaches. Now I’m a bit chicken to get the 3rd Covid jab and I am a bit late on getting my second shingles shot. Sigh, hang in and if you munch really quickly, you burn off whatever you take in!

Ugh, so sorry to hear it’s all gone pear shaped. It’s always one of those things, anything that’s going to prod the immune system might trigger a flare. Believe it or not, I suspect my recent flare was caused by multiple midge bites which I am mildly allergic to! That makes me feel somewhat ridiculous, and I suppose there are lots of other explanations, but I’m certainly wearing long sleeves and pants!.

Hey Jen, our weather forecast is for minus 24 Celsius tonight…I’m putting on my pants and long sleeves too!

OMG Amos, that is literally beyond my comprehension. I’m waking up with a thin sheen of sweat despite having my aircon on its lowest setting of 18deg Celsius!

No wonder you don’t feel like going outside! It’s been raining here fir two days (warm rain mind you), and I can’t be bothered :joy:

I’ve had my week of 4 pills, now on 3. My feet are starting to ache again, and I’m not feeling quite as invincible as i was last week. It will be interesting to get the research doc’s take on all of this. I’m thinking it may be time for a new biologic. We will see.

There’s another sub plot festering below the surface (LOL) and that has been repeated UTIs this year. I think I’m on my third. Not amusing, not one bit. My regular rheum commented that vulnerability to infections is one of the unfortunate SEs of biologics. Maybe another reason to switch?

Hey, this is interesting! What a ride this disease gives us. @Rebel_mom how are you doing these days?

S

First i am sorry to hear about your new setback hope you find the answers.

Right now i am doing good. The LONG flare after the third full shot threw me for a loop. Lots of ups and downs but i fought through it. My psoriasis is shoeing some small pop ups but the doctors told me if my joints are good then they dont want to do anything new. My college kids are home and expecting my first grand child in 2 months so i am staying extra cautious so i can see him! This site has been wonderful has helped me through some tough times!

Hang in there, Rebel_Mom, and hang out here with us!

I really do think all our meds have a finite shelf life (different for each person of course) but changing them eventually invariably has to be done at some stage. I think giving the body something else to deal with med wise (when properly appropriate) resets our stupid immune system positively. It sort of gets it out of the groove it has sunk into. Do tell us is what is decided when you get there. And hopefully you can ditch the pred soon and more so the UTI’s.
