Mine is through my maternal grandmother, seeming to follow through the generations. My mother seems to only have a touch of it at 80 years old, and takes nothing more than an Advil, where my son has had degenerative disc disease since his late twenties, early thirties, at which time he was told he had the spine of an old man who had worked hard labor all his life.
