While looking for my next biologic, I came across an article that indicated that Wellbutrin (generic: bupropion) used as an antidepressant and smoking cessation medication may have at least some anti TNF properties. The studies were limited and mostly in mice but it sounds promising even if only as an add on to a biologic. One article seemed to infer that drug companies were not pursing because no money in it since it is off patent.
I took this before for migraines and was able to tolerate side effects even though it had little effect on the headaches. Has anyone been prescribed Wellbutrin? If so, was there any noticeable effect on PsA inflammation? Did it at least improve side effects from DMARDS or biologics?
