Hey guys and gals. I’m back to rant. Lately ive been having major jaw pain, mom thinks it may be TMJ. I’ve also had terrible headaches, but that could be from the jaw problem. And also I’ve got my chest pain back so I am going on prednisone for another week to see how that helps. Nausea has become more frequent. Oh and also I may have a hernia! Yay Morgan. Yeah no. I don’t think a 15 year olds life should be filled with this much struggle. Well I will keep trucking and do what I do. I will let everyone now after Friday what the doc says
Yes jaw pain, chest pain and hernis similar pain can all be due tp PsA. Let your doctor sort it out but it may all be related to PsA. There are joints and tendons ALL over. In places I would not have believed. I stretch one day while on prednisone and thought I broke my sternum.......
Rant away if it helps. Can you take Tylenol for comfort until you see your doctor?
Oh Morgan, welcome to the club … oh wait, we welcomed you a long time ago. This is rotten, no good and not fair! But that’s life with PsA, unfortunately. You’ll find yourself sore in places where you didn’t even know you had places. Gives you a whole new appreciation for your tendons and ligaments, doesn’t it?
You’re smart – take your rescue meds (that’s what their for) and see your doc. And let us know what doc says. When do you next see the rheumie?
You’ll get through this. You are, after all, Fighter26.
My heart aches for you. I have a sixteen year old son that has skin problems and minor complaints of aches and pains in his joints. I am teriffied that he is going to be diagnosed with PsA. I agree-at your age your life should be carefree. Seenie is right about being sore in places where you didn't know you had places. I am a nurse and sometimes I think God gave me PsA to help me with anatomy and physiology. Your jaw is a joint and there is also a joint in your sternum and both of these can really hurt. I hope the prednisone helps and I think that Laura suggestion of a mouth guard is a good one.
Seenie, I last saw him the 36th of February and won’t see him till June.
Morgan- I'm totally impressed that you now have 36 days in February. With all that cold weather it certainly felt endless. It sounds like you have a game plan in place. But if the prednisone doesn't help, call your rheumy within the week. . . He should be kept in the loop. Anytime you have this type of escalation of multiple things at once, it could definitely be all inflammatory. And yes, you're right that the headache could easily be from the jaw pain.
Hope you're able to get some sleep at least.
Ha I didn’t even see that it put 36 instead of 26. I was on a bus coming back from a competition. Let’s just says buses and typing don’t mix.
I had a lot of jaw joint inflammation when I was younger. It lead to headaches, trouble eating, sometimes talking clearly. I get jaw joint flares every few years. Luckily, when my disease is under control my jaw joints get under control too.
