Torn with no support

Stormy... I get you and believe in you too! Those who don't suffer with a chronic disease, don't understand. Like Grandma J, I just don't tell. I understand how hard it is with family. They may never understand. They love you and want you to be great and admitting to themselves that a chronic illness is causing you pain is difficult for THEM! Do what you have to do. I hope the methotrexate works out great for you. Shoot, I freaked myself out about taking it! If it decreased your pain and allows more mobility, do it! With any luck, your family will see that! You always have support here!!! We ALL understand!!!

You've upped our spirits too, Stormydaze! When people come and talk and share, like you have, it helps us put our miseries into context and perspective, especially when we are surrounded by people who just don't get it. Don't give up. Keep at it. Insist that your doctors give you the most aggressive therapy that they are prepared to prescribe. This disease will be with you always, but you have a very good chance that its impact on your quality of life can be minimized. Maybe not totally eliminated, but at least made manageable.
Thank you so much for joining us, and participating in our conversations. We all need each other here.

Sandy thanks for the support. I do feel better as far as the pain. To be honest, I really didn't know how bad it had gotten until it started feeling better. I went to a movie Friday night. When it was over we got up to leave and I immediately stood up and walked down the stairs. My husband was still at the top. He came down and asked, "what was that all about?" See, for the past couple of years we have had to wait at the top of the stairs until it clears and he has had to help me down and then it was still very painful and stiff(to the point of tears). NOT this time!!!! I could not wipe the smile off my face! I was so excited! That was one of those Ahha moments! I forgot what it felt like to be normal.

Yep, that's what it's all about ... having more of those ahha 'normal' moments in your life. Keep smiling :-)

:) yes!
