Raynaud's Phenomenon & PsA

Yeah haven’t experienced warm yet although after researching I thought it said people with Raynaud’s have trouble with extreme hot and cold. Would love to have hot hands lol it is always my fingers toes ears nose nipples…and that’s the definition for Raynaud’s so I really think I have it. My fingers get ice cold easily…

My hands and feet get really white and painful if I'm in a cold place for too long. I have never reached the blue stage. My rheumatologist said it can very in degrees of severity. Once I was out with a group on a hike and it was cold but not THAT cold and everyone else was fine. My feet got so cold I couldn't feel them and I had to go sit in the car to warm up, then my feet turned bright red and the whole experience was very painful. I thought I had started to get frostbite but it wasn't even below freezing. Fortunately I live in Texas and the weather isn't super cold that often, but even chilly weather gives me cause to bundle up because I just can't tolerate it that well any more. I haven't noticed anything with the heat (yet) other than I LOVE IT.

Yes I did some more research on Raynaud's and it turns out not everyone reaches all 3 colors and the levels of severity can be different for everyone. In the long run, it's more of a nuisance than a disability for some people. I am hoping mine doesn't get worse. I think I got a good pic of it last night. I did like 20 pics!! I will keep on trying and then take the good one's to the doctor.

More light, Amiga! I think that's the issue. More light in front of the subject will help with the colors?

Ok great! I will keep trying! :-) Now I need to figure out what the heck I was doing when it started. It is so random though. I just don't seem to see anything in common with what I am doing but, I will do my best to keep a record and see!!

Try putting cold groceries away? That’s a pretty common trigger. Also, I am thinking that if you can’t really trigger it then that’s a good thing? I was really worried the first time it happened, but because it only happens in one certain situation, I can usually prevent it. Because of that, I don’t worry too much. Also, my doc doesn’t seem too worried about this symptom on its own. Combined with some other weird stuff though, he thinks we might find a new diagnosis. Idk.

It took me a while to figure out where I could set up my pics so they all look the same and there is enough light. I use my cooktop now. It’s black and the light above it is just right to pick up subtle color changes. Oh, and stay away from fluorescent lights. Try to use plain old bulbs.

Usually I am at work and all they have is Flourescent bulbs. At home too I have switched to energy efficient bulbs. I do however have ONE normal bulb above my stove haha!! Also, I did notice the other day I was at the bar with my husband and he wanted me to reach in his bucket full of ice and grab his can of beer. I attempted to do this without touching the ice! I think I subconsciously know to avoid touching anything cold! I think if I do I always use a towel or something! I just never really thought about it before. It was never really something that got my attention until the past few months.. it definitely has my attention now! :)
