Hi I have been on Humira for aobut 9 months and put on meloxicam for the past 2 months. I am having issues with irratic heart rates and high blood pressure, heart skipping beats and rushing heart rates. Anyone have any expiriance with the same symptoms? Im going to the dr. on tuesday. Thanks.
I'm on humira now and haven't had any problems like that but it can be a side effect. I hope you feel better and get to talk to you doctor!
hi, im also on humira, and i am on cardicor for rapid heart rate and high bloodpressure, dont know if it is linked to humira or not, i have a feeling its not though, hope you feel better soon xxx
Did you have high bp before? I noticed that both Meloxicam and Prednisone aggravated my bp. I would call the doc asap.
Also possible, is that it is PsA. PsA does FREQUENTLY attack the organs. The gut is most common, but the pancreas, adrenal system and Heart aer not unusual. Everyone Dx'd should have a baseline Echo-cardiogram (IMO) But then that's where mine started and after an ablation, more problems, heart failure (and I mean heart failure - the congestive heart failure came later) they finally figured it out....... So may be tending a wee bit towards being preachy on this subject......
Dear lamb,
I know about congestive heart failure, went through it with my baby brother, his was from the AIDS virus, but it's pretty much the same no matter the cause. This is serious!
So preach away brother! I had one and many cardio tests when the GB died. They insisted it was heart, I insisted it was digestive! Guess I could be due for another...
Wishing you WELL lamb,
SK
I had pvcs while on remicade, so I got off. After 2 weeks without. The palpitations are gone! Never had them on humira, mtx, or Enbrel (which I am currently on). I ended up spending over 4000.00 at cardio before I decided to switch off of the Remicade. Best of luck to you. I hope that stop soon!
Yeah - and they call this a non-disease?!?
Just sayin'

yes. high pain levels cause atrial fibrillation no matter what medication I am on.
Meloxicam caused changes in heart rhythm for me… We had to reduce my dose to bring it back within acceptable range and so it didn’t keep me awake at night. It’s never just one symptom, but manageable if that is the cause. Hope your appointment goes well.
I had chest pain when on Humira and Enbrel.....stopped them both......not taking anything right now...not sure how long that can last....I would go to emerg. if I were you - I did go when I first had the chest pain when on Humira...they figured it may have been pericardial (sp?) swelling but then no one followed up....your symptoms sound more serious but this discussion is making me think I should make someone follow up!
Take care.
Whew, what we don't go through!
What I forgot to mention was that the chest pain eventually went away! :)
Let us know how it works out
TB test was done....but not ECG.....think I will insist on it now. thanks.
Hey thanks all for your posts. I finally got in to the dr. he switched the meds (off meloxicam) and I am no longer having ANY heart issues. I also had started exercising during that time and we think that part of the heart issues was from going around 20 years with out exercise and then going almost daily to the gym. Anyway between the work outs and the med change I am doing great. I have lost about 13 lbs and have way more stamina and strength. I am also going back to teaching fiddle next month as well as being able to play again! Humira as truly been a miracle drug for me! God Bless!
