Congrats in order!

Well I’m not one to toot my horn but I thought that you would like to know that after 3 failed attempts, I just graduated! The Monty Python Ministry of Silly walks just gave me a degree and I am certified to teach the beginner program. Apparently I am a natural but have trouble with consistency…each day brings a new way to strut. You can check it out on Youtube.
Speaking of walks…so what gives? How come I can walk for half an hour but can’t stand for more than 5 minutes? From my hips down, the pain just accelerates by the minute, feet being the worst!

I totally feel your pain. Not that walking is fabulous these days, but standing kills my back.

I try to take a walk around the block before the sun comes up or just after “happy hour” at the bars so I blend in. Ah, thank god I work from a home office with no outside commitments. I do notice that if I carry a cane I am treated better by passersby. I say carry, not use. Because when my feet are bad my hands are as well.

Good to have you back! Are things pretty manageable for you lately?

I walk quite a lot but I can’t do any standing either!

Oh I love this idea, not use, just carry! Also blending in after happy hour, I had a good giggle at that image :joy:

Walking would be one of my tells for how much pain I’m in ! Yesterday hubby is looking at something in depth at a hardware store and I’m walking around doing laps because I couldn’t just stand there. If I’m waiting and it’s not a good day, I’m a pacer.
Likely has to do with continual weight/pressure on the joint(s) versus shifting it continually ?

Hi Amos and everyone.
Nope. LOL. I’ve been in the worst flare in over 10 years. A thoughtful friend went to a pharmacy in December to purchase Methotrexate for me (which is over the counter here) and instead of buying my usual brand (metotrexato) he bought Pfizer and it was probably a knockoff.
I’m back on my regular brand now and hope to get relief soon!

*I’m an American living abroad in Mexico. The risk of knockoff brands being sold to unknowing tourists is real.

Amos, I have one upped your walking stick! Today I got both carpal tunnels done and went out with massive boxing-glove bandages on both hands :joy:……… nest time my hands are hurting and I wish someone would open doors for me :rofl:

Glad you got them done and that you have a good attitude about it all. It’s hard to hide “boxing gloves”! Most of us remain closet PsA folks seldom so bold about our condition. The Mod Squad would all be there to sign your gloves and tie your laces if we could. What’s the anticipated recovery time line like?

oh dear, walking is an enterprise at times, have to sit down and have rests octuagenarian style for breathing shortage, may be bpco though not sure, depends, impossible feats top at opening bottles and turning keys in locks, and eyesight is definitely not tops.
Lie down for work w laptop in front of me to read and write, as lower back pain is too present.
All the best to everyone, off to a snooze…

New technique, ultrasound guided where they stick the blade up inside your wrist from a tiny cut - not even a suture.

So today I made toast and coffee for breakfast and got dressed (a bit sore now, but no painkillers yet).

Tomorrow I hope to drive, I think much work on a computer will take a week or two, and for grip strength 4-6 months, pillar pain (which not everyone gets) 8-12 months.

He said mine was the worst he has seen (of course!!!).

Still on a bit is a steroid high from the injections to minimise inflammation, I think it will be more sore tomorrow

Hope the snooze was refreshing. Do go get the shortness of breath checked out. I Learjet the hard way it can be sign of something that needs prompt treatment.

Sounding positive though. Have a really decent and fast recovery.

Hey @letizia

BIG +1 on this one.
Personally, I have brain issue (they did find one in there, it’s just at times it’s not working properly)
I also have a heart issue (they did find one in there, it’s just at times it’s not working properly)
At times I go to stand, see stars and next thing I’m on the floor. It seems that because there’s 2 differing specialisations, neuro says it’s a cardio issue, cardio say it’s a neuro issue.

Through my persistence, they found I have an irregular heartbeat. Just every now and again it misses a beat or two. The dr decided to give me another med and it is ‘fairly much’ manageable now. I still get the odd flutter, but if I forget to take the meds…Ohh Man… it jumps around like a rodeo cowboy trying to do a waltz. All out of whack.

Look, it could be something minimal. Like me they could give you meds and it all settle, but the longer you leave it, the more of a gamble you are taking. Get it checked out.

The last comment, from BIG+1, is making me think. (I, too, have a brain, albeit one that functions rather more foggily/forgetfully than I might desire.) Recently, I seem to have a bending-over problem. I have had a couple of pitching overs - once onto my face! - when I have been picking things up. Guess it is time to call the doctor. Thank you.
