Had my surgery this morning, so far so good. He did it with just a few large syringes of Novocaine, very effeciant way to go, it was nice to be conscience during the procedure. He also did the pinky trigger finger, and asked if any others were acting up, I told him no. He was extra careful after I told him about the shoulder surgery that got infected, also with our treatments. I had washed the area with anticeptic pre surgery soap the night before just in case. He even put in extra stitches, for a tighter wound. Great surgeon, very personable also. I am happy for the Norco, as it is very painful!
That’s great news! Take it easy and you should be healed up in no time. When you go back to get stitches out you can ask whether you should see an OT for therapy after you have recovered.
Carpal Tunnel surgery Jon? No its not painful… YET It WILL be painful hang in there and don’t shirk your exercises:
- thumb flexion exercises. …
- Do a thumb stretch exercise. …
- forearm extensor exercise. …
- Perform a forearm flexor exercise. …
- Do some wrist curls.
And whatever else you are told TRUST me on this, However active YOU THINK you are with your hands, you are not (trust me on THAT also…)
Awesome!! You will be pleased to have that done and dusted
Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
Actually the trigger finger surgery is most painful right now.
Thanks, I will try and be a model patient! After 4 surgeries on my shoulders, I have been to a lot of PT…
Yes my Mum said the trigger finger surgery was really painful. So glad it went well and here’s hoping you as the model patient get better really soon.
The pinky is not pink but purple…
Everything is going well, I am doing my PT exercises, regaining my finger control. Not much pain anymore.
Here is the nice stitching job the surgeon did…
