Burning heels/Venting

Hi Tammy Sue, so sorry to hear about the doc troubles and foot troubles you're having! Too bad you can't just fire that doc! As far as the feet, I've had pain in mine for years. Plantar fasciitis made it feel like I was walking on broken glass when I would get up to walk. Tried every kind of insole and orthotic I could afford. Now, have trouble with burning and tingling in heels, burning and pain in achilles tendons, and pain in top of foot and toes. My rheumy told me to see a podiatrist. Am now having cortisone shots in heels, due to heel spurs and scar tissue in heels. I understand that your situation probably wouldn't let you do that, but here are some of the things I do for the burning pain. I use flexible ice packs and ice my heels when they burn really bad. I never, never, ever go barefoot! I don't tuck in the sheets at bottom of bed. I bought a pair of Addidas slide sandals, with nubs all over the soles. I think they are called massage slides. These increase blood flow to the tendon in bottom of feet. I wish you luck with getting your disability!

Thank you Colorado Heidi for the helpful tips.

I am surprised there was such a good thread about burning heels on here.

Are you taking Arava generic name: Leflunomide. If so, here are some of the side effects:

I am so sorry that you are hurting so badly. My feet hurt also. I have just finished round two of a mega steroid burst and the pain is already starting to come back. Sometimes you just have to take a pain pill or I do anyway. What about applying for Obama Care?? I don't know squat about it but maybe there is an affordable insurance for you until you can get disability. Someone told me that they are only paying $5 month. You can hire an attorney for disability also. They will work on your case for free and when you are qualified they take something like 33% of the back pay,but sometimes it is worth it to get the help. Take care.
