Hi, has anyone had an increase in their BP since being diagnosised and being on meds? I know my Arava can increase BP and PsA can affect vessels? I am now on 3 BP meds despite losing weight . Pain is a daily experience. I also have MS and Trigeminal Neuralgia. I am worried I will suffer a cardiac or Neuralogic event and I do not need any medical challenges.
I am on 3 meds a statin, amlodipine and a hydrocholothazide med. I walk when able too pretty cold here today -30 Celsius.
Anyone have any suggestions or help? Anyone else have their BP increase and need 3 classes of meds and still have a resistant BP?
That sounds really challenging. I’m thankful that my blood pressure came down with weight loss, but I also know my family history and fully expect to be on blood pressure meds at some point.
I see you’re in Canada. Are you working with your GP or with a specialist on this?
I used to have low blood pressure but it has been climbing in spite of no weight gain, regular exercise and eating well. I was starting to have headaches and was put on low dose amlodipine which has maintained a normal BP for my age and no more headaches. I was born with a salt shaker in my hand and have since greatly reduce salt intake and my BP has dropped a further 5 points. Pain is also a factor so I rarely take my BP when I’m struggling with a flare. PsA has the potential to cause BP increase and I blame it for mine but of course other things can also raise things. Sorry to hear of your battle…you have a lot going on!
