I am asking this for I have been having a discussion with another PSA person on another site and she is telling me that our biologics are chemotherapy. I have not ever heard of this so I would like some input to make sure I know what I am telling her. Any insight would be appreciative.
One of “our” DMARD drugs, methotrexate, in vastly higher doses, is also used in chemotherapy. Biologics are not: they are bio-engineered proteins which target and tackle certain substances in the inflammatory process of PsA. Although powerful and effective, hey are not toxic like chemotherapy drugs.
Biologics aren't chemotherapy.
