I've just recently been diagnosed with PsAand I'm not so sure the Rheumatologist I'm seeing is all that familiar with PsA, My knees and shoulders have been popping and locking more and more and now i have to brace myself every time i straighten my right leg getting ready for the "POP".. When I told my Doc a coupla weeks ago her response was "you're just paying more attention to your body now". Really? It's more that it's demanding my attention! Does anyone have or know a good Rheumatologist who specializes in PsA in the Boston area?
The above is a link to PsA studies that have a location in Boston. I'm not sure how to contact the Boston location but it's a start. I'd call whatever number is given in the study and ask who in Boston area is doing it. This will give you an idea of some Rheums with extensive knowledge of PsA.

REALLY.....Paying to much attention to your body?? Well it's a good thing you are, because apparently your doctor is not. Nor is she listening to you. I am not from Boston, so I can offer you no help in that area. I can tell you however that it may take awhile to find a doctor who you feel comfortable with but do not get discouraged & don't stop looking till you find one. Have you considered asking your PCP for suggestions? Do you have a dermatologist that maybe can recommend a good rheumy? Best of luck to you I hope you can find a good doc soon.
Thanks for havin’ my back, Liz! I never had a need for a dermatologist. I guess I’m fortunate in the aspect that I have very little difficulty with the psoriasis itself. I had a small patch on one knee show up just after my 50th birthday, and a few other small abrasions on my upper arms and wrists. I was joking about how my body didn’t know what to give me for my birthday so it gave me psoriasis! Now I know the gift was a lot more “thoughtful”!.. I’ll give her another try and will ask her how many of her patients have RA and how many have PsA. I donut know how aggressive this disease has been for you and others but it is moving fast and attacking more joints now. I have Tramadol for the pain but I don’t think ills doing much. Again… thanks for the support… hope you have a comfortable day!
