And another diagnosis

I started having gi symptoms in early June and saw my rheumatologist late July. She sent me over to gi and they had an opening right then.

Had a colonoscopy today and had a pretty good idea I knew what the answer would be and I was right. . . Ulcerative colitis.

So I’ll start the medication tomorrow, starting with the rectal option. Because I was on top of the change in bowel habits and whatnot, the extent of it is somewhat limited. Really not very happy about this.

Sheesh! It’s always something isn’t it? Sorry to hear and hope healing comes quickly. Good that you are always listening to your body…some of us leave things too long pretending all is well. GI problems always seem to manifest in the end. Hopefully you have hit bottom and can look forward to something knew and unexpected! Don’t fall for the gimmick treatments like I did. When I was having some backside issues I saw a shampoo that claimed to repair split ends…didn’t help a bit! Be well @Stoney !

Thanks for a good laugh

Fortunately my rheumatologist had a cancellation tomorrow so I will be seeing her telehealth, while I’m on the way to go bring my son back to college for his sophomore year.

Just hugs @Stoney . I felt the same when I developed Crohn’s. Sadly autoimmune diseases just love to cluster. There are loads of biologics that treat both but it’s not Cosentyx sadly or any of the IL17 ones. Tremfya helped my Crohn’s lots but didn’t do enough for my PsA. Skyrizi is doing a better job on my PsA but is less good for me Crohn’s wise. It’s swings and roundabouts. I treat the PsA more simply as then I’m capable of dealing with my rear end better!

Thanks @Poo_therapy

I’ll be starting on skyrizi sometime this fall. I need to work out with my shoulder guy timing on AC joint arthroplasty before I get started on it
